MIT CERTIFICATES
Using the information contained in the automated email sent from MIT, download MIT Certificates. You will need this information to access course websites, registration information, visa process and procedures for international students, housing information, and your student account with Student Financial Services, among other things. You should complete this step as soon as possible. You will be unable to complete a number of other steps related to matriculation if you don't.NEW GRADUATE STUDENT ONBOARDING
A number of matriculation and on-boarding steps must be completed at the Institute level via Atlas. These activities are managed via the Atlas App apps.mit.edu.MIT ALERTS
When you arrive on campus, be sure to sign up for MIT Alerts for your phone and email. This service automatically notifies you of any emergencies on campus (including snow days!)TRANSCRIPTS
All incoming students are required to submit official transcripts from any previous academic institution from which they have received a degree. You will be emailed details regarding submission.
TECHNOLOGY
As an MIT student, you have access to discounts on computer purchases through MIT's agreements with a handful of companies. To access these discounts, Visit MIT’s Information Services & Technology (IS&T) and select the “vendor’s online education store” link in the second paragraph to access student/educational discount links for Dell, Apple, and Lenovo.
Students who wish to make extensive use of Excel modeling software, may want to consider purchasing a PC instead of a Mac.

CRE BUSINESS CARDS
Each year the CRE offers students the ability to purchase CRE-branded business cards through our contracted vendor. Information about ordering will be shared during orientation. More general information about business cards can be found here.

International Students:
Complete the necessary information in the iMIT Portal to begin the process of generating an I-20, which you will use to obtain an F-1 visa, as soon as possible.

Once open on the iMIT Portal, please sign up for an International Student Orientation session; if you have questions about which session to register for to best accommodate MSRED Orientation events, please reach out to Mary Hughes at: mchughes.mit.edu
The English Evaluation Test (EET) on will be offered on August 27th . This is a requirement for all incoming international graduate students.This is true even if you have received an English Language Testing Waiver from the CRE.
Tuesday, August 27th, 2024, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in room 10-250.
A short, 10-minute interview (to be scheduled at the test) will also be required.
If you are on campus by that date and meet the criteria below, you should plan to take the test then. If you are not yet on campus by August 27th, a make-up exam will be offered later in the week.
